Pretoria born Ms. Portia Mkhabela Holds a Diploma in Information Technology and Management Development qualification, currently completing her Bachelor of Training and Development through the University of North West.  Her career in skills development started at Telkom South Africa (Centre for Learning) in 1998 where she was responsible for accreditation of the institution and management of Skills Development activities. She left Telkom to manage her own Training Company for 4 years managing Housing Consumer Education programme for the Western Cape Department of Transport. She was then appointed to manage Special Projects at the Transport SETA (TETA) from 2010 until 2013, transforming the SETA performance on all special projects such as the SMME Development programmes. She is currently the Head of Skills Development at the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) based in Pretoria Rosslyn. In conjunction with the Operations Manager for the Gauteng Learning Centre(Ms. Natalie Nelson) they integrate client strategic requirement and fulfil the requirements using state of the art facility (GALC) to develop and enhance skills development in the automotive sector  through the established Automotive Skills Advisory Forum.
