Lesego Gaegane is a Chemical Engineer with postgraduate qualifications in Project Management and Oil & Gas Engineering. She has implemented Strategic Energy Management and Water Efficiency Projects within the private sector over the past 12 years. Lesego has been involved in developing & implementing Sustainability Projects to improve efficiencies& productivity, and reduce costs. Her role included driving policy change within companies to enable them to have Sustainable Development principles and practices.She was instrumental in implementing an integrated sustainability programme at one of the biggest retailers in South Africa to manage their key energy, environmental, social & economic risks and to forecast targets. It assisted the company to have sustainable energy savings, to position itself in a positive light to its current & new customers, supply chain & other stakeholders for seizing opportunities for new products, services, and markets. Lesegois a member of The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), aboard member of South African Females in Energy Efficiency (SAFEE) and a memberof The Southern African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC). She has a strong passion for mentorship in order to develop and capacitate young professionals. Lesego is committed to the improvement of processes to maintain efficiency and improve productivity for sustainable practices in industry.
