ANTON CUYLER

After completing his Bachelors at the University of Johannesburg, Anton pursued a career in corporate sales for the next 16 years leading him to spend a decade in the UK. During this time he met his now wife Elana, also South African and having felt a tug on their hearts, returned to Muizenberg, Cape Town in 2010. After a year volunteering as youth workers at a local church they became entwined with the lives of the beautiful young people from the Vrygrond Township Community.

What started as a small afterschool tutoring club in one shipping container, has ten years later expanded into a vibrant youth development organisation, employing over 50 staff mostly from Vrygrond and spread across two state of the art centres focusing each on youth education and skills development. Both programs are intentionally holistic, developing youth employability and creating multiple pathways to employment in response to the growing youth unemployment crisis. Their highest value of unconditional love is the golden strand connecting everything they do. Anton serves as CEO and co-founder of the Sozo Foundation along with his wife Elana. They have eight year twins, Keenan and Keren and a beagle puppy named BRAVE!
