MD: Merchandise Supply Chain at TFG (The Foschini Group)
Graham Choice is a stalwart in the apparel manufacturing industry. His skills, knowledge and passion for the industry and its people has contributedto the growth of the sector. This can be traced back to his personal journey starting as a traineein 1982 before working through the different manufacturing rankings to becomingthe Pal’s ClothingFactory Manager in 1987and then as CEO of Prestige ClothingCC, which he started as a micro business with 6 employees in 1989. In 1996 he was appointed as Provisional Councillor for the Western Cape; representing small business. Prestige grew through the economic recession of the following decade to become a small, then medium and eventually large apparel manufacturing company which TFG acquired in 2012. The purpose of the acquisition was to acquire its quick response IP and from itbuild a scalable and sustainable local design and quick response focused manufacturing supply chain. In July 2021 the Clothing National Bargaining Councilrecognised Prestige clothing as being the largest apparel manufacture(by employment size) in SA.
As the Managing Director of TFG Merchandise Supply Chain, he plays a pivotal role in the SA garment manufacturing industry. This is apparent by his active collaborations in his career in a number of roles as CEO and as Chairman of the Cape Clothing and Textile Cluster (CCTC), South African Apparel Association (SAAA), co-managingDirector of the Textile and Clothing Development Council (TCDC) and TFG’s representative to the National Clothing Retail Federation (NCRF).
In 2018 he formed part of a small working group from which the R-CTFL Masterplan was created. He currently represents both TFG and Manufacturing on its Executive Oversight Committee (EOC) and a number of its task teams which promotes skills development, industry best practice and industry employment growth.
