Michelle Odayan

Michelle is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, a social entrepreneur and the co-founder of the IndibaConsult, a human rights focused professional services anddevelopment practice. She is a strategist and enabler offering clients from under trees to boardrooms innovative perspectives, insights and approaches for change and institutional transformation in Africa.  Her personal and professional life is anchored around values based ethical leadership.

She has substantive experience working with government, the private sector and civil society in high impact skills development and decent work, social and economic capacity building interventions, business and human rights integration, gender and women’s rights, access to justice and technological advancement.She currently serves as the Board Chair of the Fibre Process and Manufacturing SETA, the Board Chair of People Opposing Women Abuse (POWA), and a Board Director of Legal Aid of South Africa.

She served on the Presidents Working Group on Women (PWGW) from 2005 – 2007 and remains a vociferous champion for women’s rights and equality.  In 2012 – 2013 she was a ministerial appointee to the National Task Team on Sexual Offences Legislation & the Re – Establishment of Sexual Offences Courts.
