I am married with four childrentwo boys and two girls. My wife is a school Principal in Cape Town. I was born and raised in Prieska, Northern Cape Province in South Africa. I am fortunate to be able to converse in 6 of the South African languages.
My educational career stems from the University of the Western Cape – UWC and the Peninsula Technicon (now Cape Peninsula University of Technology – CPUT). The qualifications at these institutions are as follows:
- Post Graduate Diploma, Human Resources Management – CPUT.
- Certificate, Labour and Social Law – UWC.
- Honours Degree, Bachelor of Education (Educational Psychology)- UWC.
- Post Graduate Diploma, Higher Diploma in Education.
- Degree, Bachelor of Arts
Other developmental programmes include the following:
- Basic Financial Management (CHEC)
- Managing the Curriculum
- Project Management
I have been in the education arena for 23 years previously at the University of the Western Cape in the Residence administration. I then proceeded to work in the High School sector (from Educator through the ranks to School Principal) and left the sector as a school principal. I worked in the department of Education as a Provincial Project Manager for the Learner Attainment Strategy. I then joined the TVET sector first as a Campus Mangers and later Vice Principal. I the left the TVET sector and joined the private sector as a Country Director for Pearson SA for 3 years. I then cam back into the Public Sector as Principal of a college in the Eastern Cape of South Africa for 4 years.
I am currently the CEO/Principal: NorthlinkTVET College.
